The University of Dayton is a mid-sized Catholic Marianist research institution situated near downtown Dayton. The city of Dayton is a hidden gem rich in history, culture and recreation. It is the 6th largest city in Ohio and the 4th largest metropolitan area in Ohio. Conference Services is housed within the Department of Housing and Residence Life where we focus on creating an inclusive environment that provides educational opportunities, professional growth and quality service. We've hosted a variety of Dayton, Ohio events such as business and professional conferences, athletic and academic camps, and summer intern housing. Our amenities include but are not limited to traditional or apartment style housing (summer only), Wi-Fi, meeting spaces, on-site bowling and swimming. We assist our Ohioconference groups with catering, recreational facility usage, registration, parking and transportation needs.

Kennedy Union - Ballroom Our East Ballroom seats 224 to 350 or 45 tables depending on room configuration. West Ballroom seats 128 to 150 or 27 tables depending on room configuration. The entire Ballroom seats 384 to 500 or 69 tables depending on room configuration. There is a lounge outside of the space that is often used for registration or buffet lines. A podium, mic, projector, computer and sound system is available for use. 

Kennedy Union - Torch Lounge & Roof Terrace This space seats 160 to 300 or 28 tables. Roof Terrace includes four picnic benches, five bistro tables with 4 chairs (3 tables have table umbrellas available) and two round picnic table with 5 chairs. A/V equipment is available for use.

Chudd Auditorium This space seats 225 individuals theater style. A/V equipment is available for use.

O'Leary Auditorium This space seats 286 individuals theater style. A/V equipment is available for use.

Sears Recital Hall This is space seats 183 individuals theater style. There's a stage with a podium, mic and projector screen. A/V equipment is available for use.

Marianist Hall Classrooms The Marianist Learning Space is located on the 2nd floor of the Marianist residence hall. It offers a total of five enclosed and exposed meeting room spaces that can be configured in a multitude of ways. Important things to note about the spaces:

  • Studio 217 eats 35 with table and chairs

Campus Recreation Complex (Recplex) The RecPlex is the home to a variety of events including, but not limited to tournaments, competitions, fitness, dance, exhibitions, receptions, and classes.

Outdoor Venues

  • Jesse Philips Humanities Center Plaza – Open space usually used for performances and table events. Grass area provides seating for about 50 people; chairs can be added.

    All conference meals provided at the University of Dayton are provided by UD’s Catering Services. The Grainary at VWK will be the primary location for your conference group's daily meals.  The VWK Grainary seats just over 200 and offers cafeteria style service with a rotating menu that has a variety of options that everyone can enjoy!

    This location offers soup, salad, sandwiches and baked goods. One can enjoy a healthy meal in the seating area with a nice view of campus. 
  • Kennedy Union Dining
    Seating Capacity: 300
    This is our newly rennovated dining hall! This option consists of three microrestaurants that provide a range of meal types - 'Que, Spice, and Toss. Guests can enjoy a salad and pizza or spice it up with Italian or Indian cuisine.

ServiceDescription
Parking Passes Parking passes are included for conferences staying on campus in residential facilities. Parking pass prices will be included in overall charges for conferences needing passes with no residential component. 

Shuttle Services Shuttle service is available by golf cart, van, or bus depending on the size of the group. Shuttle services may be contracted out to local companies. Pricing varies based upon group size, mode of transportation, and duration of transportation needed.

Vendor/Campus Partner Coordination We offer full service assistance to our guests. Our staff handles logistics by communicating with campus partners to guarantee space, meals, and technology usage. We also handle contracts with outside companies.

Registration We assist groups with creating online registration for participants. We also have staff who can assist with checking in registered attendees and passing out conference material during the event. 

Budget Management We work with groups' budget to provide a package that includes needed services at a convenient cost. We negotiate with campus partners and vendors to find the lowest price option.

Wifi There is complimentary WiFi for groups hosting their conference on campus. Conference participants will have the ability to register for WiFi upon check-in.

In addition to exhibiting outstanding special exhibitions and impressive collections of art from throughout the world, the museum is renowned for education programming that includes an array of offerings for diverse audiences.

The Oregon District The Oregon District is Dayton's only entertainment district and first historic neighborhood located near downtown Dayton, Ohio. In this area you can find restaurants, stores, bars and dance clubs. 

Wright Patterson Air Force Museum The National Museum of the United States Air Force collects, researches, conserves, interprets and presents the Air Force's history, heritage and traditions. There are engaging exhibits, educational outreach, special programs, and the stewardship of the national historic collection. 

Carillon Historical Park This park displays the stories of industrial innovation that took place in the Dayton area dating back to the 1930s.
